ACLU Freelance Mid-level Graphic Designer

The American Civil Liberties Union is an American nonprofit organization dedicated to civil rights, founded in 1920. ACLU affiliates are active in all 50 states, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico. The ACLU provides legal assistance in cases where it considers civil liberties at risk.

Now more than ever, the ACLU works to combat authoritarianism, illegal federal and state government action, and protect the rights of Americans in this extremely conservative national epoch.

DESCRIPTION

As a freelance designer, I’ve worked on several different campaigns for the ACLU.

Specifically, I helped establish the visual identity and aesthetic of the ACLU’s Letters to America campaign. Rooted in collage and physical media, Letters to  America aims to highlight the difficulties many face as they immigrate to the United States and the stories they carry as they cross the border.

I’ve also worked on several social media and digital projects, such as templates for quotes highlighting immigrant stories and web graphics for each of the ACLU’s primary pages.

I am currently supporting the ACLU team by designing web graphics for action items, social graphics, and developing new visual direction/branding for the ACLU’s several externally-facing campaigns coming in the new year.
