Rebecca Engelhardt approached me to reimagine her floral arrangement brand, Buds Budding, from the ground up. The brand is historically inspired by ‘70s cartoons and character design, which was a key jumping-off point for the redesign. After speaking with the client, I realized there was a strong emphasis on elevating the brand into something serious and high-end without losing whimsy.

This redesign references several key ‘60s and ‘70s design movements, such as psychedelic art. Famous type designers of the era, such as Herb Lubalin and Tom Carnese, were key references to help the design capture whimsy, elegance, and form.
